What is Problem Solving?

In our Daily life, we go through different challenges or obstacles. We try different methods and approaches to overcome problems, Which is called problem-solving. It's not only about solving coding-based problems on a particular platform But it is a practice for life. So we can tackle every problem efficiently and optimally.

Why Solve Problem

From a Student's point of view, When They start problem-solving on Platforms eg. LeetCode, Codechef etc. They have a common doubt that why solve these problems, while we have to build products for the advancement of people, even I also tackled this question. So the answer is, Problem-solving is the only tool used in every industry not only tech field But everywhere. Because Every company and firm wants to deal with problems in a simpler way to do so one should have good problem-solving skills.

Max-Question v/s Max-approach

Problem-solving is not only about solving tons of questions. Ask yourself Do I have all possible approaches or ways to solve that problem? If Yes, then only It's good. Because A brute force approach ( or An approach that takes a lot of time and effort ) is a starting point to reach an efficient and optimal solution or we can say the first step which pushes you toward the optimal approach. You can directly jump into the optimal solution but start with brute force first. it helps to make you more open and approach free for a particular problem Which is a good sign.

Why Good problem-Solving Skills

Let's take an example, Two boys Michal and sam are brainstorming on a particular problem let's call that problem A. So now, Michal solved problem A in 5min with good effort. Now Sam thought differently, and he solved problem A in 2 min with less effort than Michal. Now Sam has more time than Michal, Also sam consumed fewer resources. Here we see how good problem-solving skills can help one to save time, resources, money etc.

On a very large enterprise level, this time gap and resource consumption can become more. To avoid this, Companies hire people having good problem-solving skills. Not Only for the professional stage, But Problem-Solving skills are also needed in an individual's personal life in different stages and situations.

So, It's needed to have good Problem-solving skills

How to Improve Problem-Solving Skills

There are a lot of famous platforms and sources where one can solve problems and learn. These platforms organize a weekly contest where one can solve 4-5 fresh problems every week. It's good to solve these problems and enhance approaching skills. But problem-solving not ends here, There are 2x times of problems in our daily life in our surroundings. we Should also focus on that, Think that what solution you can provide and how it will help. and That is the actual juice of Problem-Solving.

So Not only Engineering fellows can solve problems But All can. Go out, visit, search, Think and provide your solution

In conclusion, Start your journey from today itself. Either solve a problem on the tech level or In other domains with your ideas and efforts. It will help you as well as others a lot.
